Part 6 — The First Crack in His Story
By noon, the story had started spreading.
Not officially.
But weddings like that don’t stay private for long.
Someone recorded part of it.
Someone posted a comment.
Someone shared it again.
By evening, Sharon’s phone buzzed again—this time from Rachel.
“You’re trending.”
Sharon blinked.
“What?”
“People are calling it ‘The Wedding Exposure.’”
Sharon exhaled slowly.
“I don’t care about that.”
Rachel hesitated.
“There’s something else.”
Sharon sat down.
“What?”
“Oliver is telling people you lied.”
Silence.
“That you’re unstable,” Rachel continued. “That you misheard everything.”
Sharon almost laughed.
Almost.
“He would.”
“But here’s the problem,” Rachel said. “Too many guests saw it. Heard it. He’s losing control of the narrative.”
Sharon looked toward the window.
Outside, sunlight hit the kitchen floor like nothing had ever happened.
Good.
Let it collapse.
