Laundry as White and Pure as Milk: You Only Need This One Ingredient

You should therefore apply some degreaser to the collars and cuffs of white shirts, as these areas get dirty faster. Although many products on the market promise brilliantly white laundry, in reality our expectations are often disappointed.

Anyone who uses bleach to remove stubborn sweat stains, for example, risks ruining even the most delicate garments. Bleach can be extremely corrosive.

To protect clothing and at the same time avoid burdening nature with chemical products, it is better to turn to more natural products and not overdo it with detergents, to avoid residue in the fabric.

To prevent stains on white clothing, you should avoid perfume, deodorant, and other chemicals that come into contact with the fabric. If stains on white clothing are treated incorrectly, it can lead to a yellowish discoloration.

In addition, hanging laundry in direct sun and during the hottest hours can cause colors to fade and white laundry to yellow. Should this happen, however, we have a solution in the medicine cabinet.

What is the main ingredient for white laundry?

The official version of the origin story of aspirin, that of the pharmaceutical company itself, still credits the German pharmacist Felix Hoffmann exclusively with the development of acetylsalicylic acid.

Aspirin, or the acetylsalicylic acid it contains, has cleaning properties, even if we have an expired pack we can no longer take.

So if you need a thorough cleaning of textiles and want to remove even stubborn stains, you can use aspirin while being completely gentle on the environment.

How do you make this whitening agent? Pour hot water into a bowl and add five aspirin tablets of 325 milligrams each. Once the tablets have fully dissolved, you can soak the garments.

Let them soak for about 8 hours, after which they are wrung out and placed in the washing machine, following the usual wash program.

A faster alternative is to add 5 aspirin tablets to your usual load; the result is less “brilliant” than the first method, but still satisfying.
