2. Discovering an Untold Story
The address led Rosa to a row of storage garages on the edge of the city. Using the key, she opened garage number 122.
Inside, she found a wooden box filled with letters, drawings, and old photographs. Many of the letters were written by a woman named Virginia and expressed deep gratitude for Harold’s help over the years.
As Rosa looked through the documents, she realized that long ago Harold had supported a young mother and her child during a difficult period in their lives. He had quietly helped them with housing, education, and other necessities.
It was something he had never mentioned during their years together.
While Rosa was still looking through the items, the same girl from earlier appeared at the garage. She introduced herself as Gini and explained that Virginia was her mother.
Gini shared that Harold had visited them from time to time over the years and had recently given her the envelope with instructions to deliver it when the time felt right.
Rosa began to understand that Harold had trusted her to learn the story he had carried quietly for many years.
