Part 2: A Difficult Conversation
After leaving the room, I sat quietly in the living room trying to calm my thoughts. Discovering something like that can be overwhelming, and I needed time to understand what I was feeling.
As I searched through my bag, I noticed my phone and started scrolling through my contacts.
There was one name I hadn’t called in many years.
My father.
Our relationship had been distant for a long time because our lives had taken very different directions. I had chosen a quieter life, while he had always been involved in a more complex and demanding world.
But that evening, I felt the need to hear a familiar voice.
When he answered the phone, I briefly explained what had happened. I didn’t go into many details, but he understood that I was going through a difficult moment.
He listened carefully and asked me if I was okay.
His calm voice helped me regain some clarity. Sometimes, simply talking to someone who cares about you can make a big difference.
That conversation reminded me that support can come from unexpected places, even after many years.
